What we collect, and why
Sermonable collects very little, and only for reasons you can see on the page in front of you. There are no accounts required for the free sermon, so most visitors give us nothing at all.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address and, if you check it, a flag saying you are a pastor or church leader. We use this only to tell you about the launch and early access. You can unsubscribe by replying to any email or using the unsubscribe link in it. We never sell your email or share it for marketing.
The contact form
When you write to us, we keep the topic, your message, and your reply email if you chose to give one. We keep messages only to answer them; they are cleared automatically within 90 days, and if you ask us to delete yours we will do it right away.
Sermon requests
When you ask for a sermon, the tradition, the length, and the "what's on your heart" text are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to prepare your sermon. We do not store them afterward.
A gentle ask: please do not put sensitive details in the topic box that you would not want processed. First names are fine. Full identifying stories are not needed for a good sermon.
Cookies
We set one functional cookie: a random ID that lets us offer the free weekly sermon fairly. It identifies a browser, not a person. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. None.
IP addresses
Your IP address is used transiently for rate limiting, in counters that expire on their own within a few days (ten at most), and by our host Cloudflare for security.
Analytics
The only analytics we use, now or as we grow, is Cloudflare Web Analytics: privacy-first, cookieless, and aggregate only. At most it tells us things like how many people visited a page. It cannot follow you across sites and it cannot build a profile of you.
What we will never do
- No ads, ever.
- No selling your data, ever.
- No third-party trackers.
Payments
When Sermonable Plus launches, payments will be handled by a payment provider acting as merchant of record. Your card details will never touch our servers.
Deleting your data
Ask us through the contact page and we will remove your waitlist entry and your messages.
Children
Sermonable is a general audience service. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
